The research institute NORCE has followed our work on automated identification and selective treatment of sea lice, and has been involved in the technical evaluation of the system.

By continuously delousing 100% of the population, they aim to keep lice levels low without relying on repeated well-boat treatment operations. Their solution combines gentle fish handling with precision laser technology that targets the lice rather than the fish, helping preserve fish welfare, physiology and the protective skin barrier. By reducing well-boat operations, treatment-related stress and energy use, the technology also has the potential to significantly reduce the environmental footprint of sea-lice management.»
