The research institute NORCE has been involved in the technical evaluation and development of our system. They have now summarised their assessment in writing.
NORCE has followed our work on automated identification and selective treatment of sea lice. In a letter of support dated 17 June 2026, they summarise their assessment of the technology platform.
«Venturitech is developing a new approach to sea-lice control that could fundamentally change how salmon are protected. By continuously delousing 100% of the population, they aim to keep lice levels low without relying on repeated well-boat treatment operations. Their solution combines gentle fish handling with precision laser technology that targets the lice rather than the fish, helping preserve fish welfare, physiology and the protective skin barrier. By reducing well-boat operations, treatment-related stress and energy use, the technology also has the potential to significantly reduce the environmental footprint of sea-lice management.»
The letter points to the solution being a new approach to how fish are transported, inspected, tracked and treated within a controlled process environment — with the potential to improve treatment precision, fish welfare and operational efficiency.
